Is anything coming out of the Washington true these days?

WASHINGTON (INTELLIHUB) — According to former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s new book, Daniel Pfeiffer, assistant to the President of the United States and Stephanie Cutter, a political consultant, both White House insiders, asked Geithner to mislead the general public for political purposes.
“I objected when Dan Pfeiffer wanted me to say that Social Security didn’t contribute to the deficit. It wasn’t a main driver of our future deficits, but it did contribute. Pfeiffer said the line was a “dog whistle’ to the left, a phrase I had never head before”, Wrote Geithner in his book.
While this may come as no surprise to some as the Obama Administration’s track record for truth is not the best by any means, some are furious and rightfully so.
According to The Hill’s managing editor Bub Cusack on a recent Fox News segment, more White House insiders are expected to come out in the next few years, exposing what has truly taken place behind the scenes of the Obama Administration.
However, gatekeepers of Obama are not happy with Geithner’s book. In fact, David Jackson writing for USA Today detailed Glenn Hubbard’s thoughts:
Glenn Hubbard, an aide to President George W. Bush and 2012 Republican candidate Mitt Romney, says Geithner is making up a story claiming that Hubbard said Republicans would eventually have to raise taxes.
Geithner is “going to go out and say what he wants,”Hubbard told Politico. “It just happens to be a lie.”
In his book Stress Test: Reflections on Financial Crises, which details the Obama administration’s response to the financial crisis, Geithner writes that Hubbard complained about the White House refusal to endorse the Simpson-Bowles deficit reduction plan.
We shall see how the saga plays out.
