At least 12 killed in California country western bar attack

Ventura County authorities are saying the attack is not terror-related and are currently investigating the matter.

At least 11 patrons and a sheriff’s deputy were shot dead at a country western themed bar in Thousand Oaks, California Wednesday night by a crazed gunman.

Shots rang out at Borderline Bar & Grill located at 99 Rolling Oaks Drive around 11:20 p.m. when the gunman opened fire on about 100 crowd goers at the popular Ventura County country music venue, reports say.

A young woman named Teylor Whittler witnessed the mayhem.

“I saw him shoot,” she told reporters. Then someone yelled: “Everybody get down.”

According to reports, the gunman is deceased.

Authorities are investigating the shooting which they say is not terror-related.

The shooting comes a little over a year after the Las Vegas massacre in which 58 people were shot and killed when a country music venue was attacked.
