LAS VEGAS (INTELLIHUB) — A poker cage at the Bellagio Resort and Casino was robbed at gunpoint by a Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m., reports say.

Casino staff acted quickly by calmly and quietly handing over the cash to the armed suspect to avoid any injuries to casino-goers.

Actor James Woods was in the casino at the time of the robbery and tweeted the following statement:

“So we are playing poker at the @BellagioPoker and a guy walks up with a gun and robs the cage thirty feet from us ten minutes ago.”

“@Bellagio staff were fantastic. They surrendered the money quietly, so no customers would get hurt. Nobody even realized it was happening. Excellent staff, cool under pressure.,” the actor tweeted.

The suspect, a white male, was wearing a partial disguise and carrying a small black gun.

Authorities say they feel confident they will apprehend the perpetrator who is currently still on the loose.
