(INTELLIHUB) — Officials have warned residents to remain cautious after ticks tested positive for the Bubonic plague.

The plague, a.k.a. “Black Death,” killed millions of people in the 1300’s.

“The infected fleas were found in Navajo and Coconino counties in northern Arizona,” according to a Fox News report.

Experts warn that the virus can be transmitted to humans by flea bites.
