Former C.I.A. officer “deeply disturbed” over Trump’s remarks
(INTELLIHUB) — Former CIA Director, John Nixon, who was the first man to interrogate Saddam Hussein, appeared on MSNBC Thursday to talk about the whole Russian hacking fiasco.
Nixon told MSNBC that he is “deeply disturbed” over President-elect Donald Trump’s doubt of the C.I.A.’s assessment of the purported Russian hacks which have been a major focal point of the media over the past three weeks.
Nixon said that “both the C.I.A. and the President-elect need each other” and can benefit from one another. “But if a wall of mistrust is built up between the President and his intelligence community the only people that benefit are our enemies.”
“The C.I.A. does not have a crystal ball in its basement and it can’t predict the future, but it can help the president make some very tough decisions,” Nixon candidly told MSNBC.
‘The American people need to be given the truth about what has happened.’
Nixon then went on to talk about his personal interrogation with Saddam Hussein, which he said at some times were “scary.”
Saddam was rather “disengaged” with what was going on in the world at the time, Nixon pointed out.
