A restaurant owner in Covina barred the city health inspector from leaving for duty when the fed-up businessman parked his big four-wheel-drive truck behind the inspector’s vehicle on Saturday in protest of the latest unconstitutional announcement mandating restaurants are to remain closed.
Bread & Barley owner Carlos Roman told police that he is desperate because the health department shut down his restaurant and his head chef just had a baby.
“It’s fu*king bullshit, I’m sick of it,” the man told police. “It’s a health issue and I can not operate anymore.”
Roman told police that he has been going by the book for the last seven years and has paid for all of his licenses and permits.
‘It’s hard enough to run a restaurant when times are good,’ he explained.
