(INTELLIHUB) — The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has raised their emergency response to Level 1, the highest that can be issued by the agency.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is also expected to follow lockstep in the next few days, increasing the WHO alert status to Pandemic Level 6, which is essentially silent martial law in most U.N. countries.

Fox News reported:

This is the highest level of emergency response at the CDC and, according to an agency spokesperson, it has been activated because of the surge of personnel being sent into the affected countries. The CDC’s emergency operations center is now assisting the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases in Atlanta, which specializes in the study and research of Ebola.

Door-to-door sweeps are already underway as troops look for any signs of the infected.
