From time to time E6-B Mercury aircraft a.k.a doomsday planes have been deployed on random flights, drills, and tests but there is more to the latest story in which two of the command and control aircraft were aloft at the same time late Thursday night into Friday morning and the U.S. government is on the hush-hush.
Flight radar records show that two E6-B were airborne at the same—one off the East coast and one off of the West Coast above Oregon following the announcement that President Trump and the First Lady have contracted COVID-19. However, a Strategic Command spokesman shot down the rumors telling Fox News that the timing was “purely coincidental” because the flights were “pre-planned.”
Moreover, a top defense official told Fox News that “the president remains the commander-in-chief” and that there has been “no change to the posture of the U.S. military.”
“… There’s an E-6B Mercury off the east coast near DC. I looked because I would expect them to pop up if he tests positive. It’s a message to the small group of adversaries with SLBMs and ICBMs,” Tim Hogan Tweeted.
Although the timing may have been coincidental it’s safe to say the government could be expecting something imminent such as a meteor strike, eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano, or a nuclear attack.
