EGYPT (INTELLIHUB) — Early Thursday morning search and rescue teams in Greece and Egypt are working diligently to locate EgyptAir flight 804, that went missing after an abrupt dip in altitude was noted.

Flight 804 departed Paris shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday night and had just crossed into Egyptian airspace when the plane dissipated from radar around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

“A list of the nationalities of the passengers released by Egypt said that 30 were Egyptian, 15 were from France and the remainder were from at least eight other countries, including Algeria, Belgium, Britain and several Persian Gulf nations,” according to the NY Times.

As of yet, no trace of the airliner has been found.

A distress signal was activated by the aircraft’s computer.

It was also reported that a large family, with five children, were at the wrong terminal and were going to miss the plane, before a reported airport worker helped them onto the flight which is now missing. It has been reported that the airport worker is devastated.

The airliner in question is an Airbus A320.
