RAQQA, Syria — According to F.B.I. Director James Comey, a well produced 55-minute long ISIS propaganda video, released on Sept. 19, 2014, reveals a bilingual English-Arabic-speaking man sporting quality desert camouflage attire complete with a mask, pistol and shoulder holster. The F.B.I. maintains that the man may be of “North American” decent, but so far has had no luck identifying the individual featured in the video.
Now, the F.B.I. is calling upon the public for help, saying, “We’re hoping that someone might recognize this individual and provide us with key pieces of information” […] “No piece of information is too small.”
Moreover, the FB.I. is now calling for people to report anyone who may be training with militant groups overseas. An excerpt from the F.B.I.’s official website reads:
The FBI is asking for the public’s help identifying individuals who have traveled—or are planning to travel—overseas to engage in combat alongside terrorist organizations.
“We need the public’s assistance in identifying U.S. persons going to fight overseas with terrorist groups or who are returning home from fighting overseas,” said Michael Steinbach, assistant director of the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division.
In the video, the man says he is located at a military base just outside of the city where enemy soldiers are featured in the background “digging their own graves”.
