TEHRAN, Iran (INTELLIHUB) — A whistleblower from within the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary claims that the deadly SAR-CoV-2 coronavirus strain has penetrated prison walls putting the population of an estimated 20,000 inmates at risk of contracting the agent.
“I’m making this call from the Great Tehran Prison… coronavirus has entered the prison,” the whistleblower explained on a phone call from the prison. “They have closed the prison clinic. If COVID-19 enters the prison’s wards, the lives of 20,000 prisoners are at risk.”
