Health experts say new test will ‘save the hospital money’

(INTELLIHUB) — Apparently the medical industry will soon be in the business to not treat people needing medical attention, rather letting them die, a move that will surely save hospitals valuable time and money.
I mean after all, why treat someone who may not be able to pay their medical bills after death right? At least that’s the general consensus in the medical world. This is the direction the health industry in America is now moving.
In fact a new test looks at indicators based on the patients age, illness, mental state, and other factors to determine if a person will die in the next 30-days to 12 weeks, and patients will be stuck to take the doctors word for it.
“Delaying unavoidable death contributes to unsustainable and escalating healthcare costs, despite aggressive and expensive interventions”, said a University of New South Wales researcher.
“These interventions may not influence patient outcome; often do not improve the patient’s quality of life; may compromise bereavement outcomes for families; and cause frustration for health professionals.”
Additionally researchers claim this will help not only the patient, but the also the patient’s family, as well as the medical establishment to save valuable money on unneeded treatments.
However some are now asking; what will happen in the case of a misdiagnosis?
The Telegraph reports:
By giving families and patients some options about the preferred place of death, the test could also help terminally ill elderly people choose to go home, the authors said.
The checklist is yet to be tested but the researchers hope it will eventually be used for all hospital admissions.
Ladies and gentlemen the bottom line is that your fate will soon be left up to the state to decide. At this point they can essentially make up anything and there is nothing you will be able to do about it.
This new test is likely a spinoff of the highly criticized ‘Obama death panels’ which made rounds in the press during the president’s first term.
