A married couple celebrating their 10-years wedding anniversary found themselves smack dab in the middle of a ‘separate active shooter event’ which occurred inside the lobby of the Bellagio just before 11:20 p.m.
(INTELLIHUB) — A married Canadian man named Jeff claims that he and his wife were in Las Vegas on the night of the mass shooting and were inside the Bellagio Resort & Casino’s conservatory taking photos when major panic broke out in the hotel lobby just before 11:20 p.m.
“All of a sudden there was just a crescendo of screams that started behind us in the lobby,” he said. “Then I heard somebody yell ‘there’s a shooter! There’s a shooter!’ And then I heard like five or six pops, like unmistakable gunfire, unmistakably.”
“These [shots] were from right outside that lobby area and they were very distinct,” he explained.
Astonishingly, the man’s claims match up to actual events captured in police audio recordings from the night of the shooting which confirms that between 11:15 and 11:18 p.m. on the night of Oct. 1 there was, in fact, something going on at the Bellagio. But what?
The following is a small portion of the actual police audio transcript which was published by Intellihub on Oct. 10:
- ‘Suspect armed with a rifle.’
- [What sounds like fully-automatic gunfire can be heard over an open mic with a fast cycle rate, possibly an MP5 9mm]
- ‘Bellagio is hearing a lot of shots being fired. A suspect is inside.’
- Officer: ‘Bellagio is going to be negative for a 415A and that’s per security.’
