Hundreds gather to remember Las Vegas shooting victims 6 months later

"The community just feels so strongly and so united at a time when the county is so torn apart [but] the country is certainly united on this one thing"

(INTELLIHUB) — Hundreds of people coming together as one gathered near the site of last year’s massacre on Easter Sunday marking the 6-month anniversary of the tragedy.

“Each person’s journey through the trauma is slightly different,” one survivor of the massacre explained.

The group came together and marched around the perimeter of the venue where the shooting occurred in honor of the victims.

“I give the organizers so much credit for taking the effort and the time to put this together and give people the opportunity to come down here — I just wanted to be part of it,” Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak said. “The community just feels so strongly and so united at a time when the county is so torn apart [but] the country is certainly united on this one thing.”

Fifty-eight people were gunned down on the night of October 1, 2017, purportedly at the hands of lone-gunman Stephen Paddock.
