Julian Assange Says That New Wikileaks Movie Is “Propaganda”

The volume of propaganda to come out of the film industry in the past few years rivals that of the Third Reich.

People may think that it is sensationalistic and in poor taste to bring up the Nazi regime, but this was a point in our history that many lessons can be learned from, and in so many ways it mirrors our present day experience.

In today’s American movies the propaganda of history is reinforced with films like “Lincoln” and the atrocities of the present are justified in films like “Zero Dark Thirty”.

Recently, details of Wikileaks movie has begun to surface, and Julian Assange is already speaking out about it, rightfully calling it “Propaganda”

According to AFP:

“WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange hit out on Wednesday at a Hollywood film about his secret-spilling website, calling the movie “a massive propaganda attack”.

Speaking to students at Britain’s prestigious Oxford University by videolink from the Ecuadoran embassy in London, Assange revealed that he had acquired a copy of the script for “The Fifth Estate”, due to be released in November.

“It is a lie upon lie. The movie is a massive propaganda attack on WikiLeaks and the character of my staff,” the Australian Internet activist told the audience at the university’s Oxford Union debating club.

Assange, 41, also blasted the movie for “fanning the flames” of war against Iran by implying that the Islamic republic was working on a nuclear bomb.

Reading from the script, he said the opening scene was set inside a military complex in Iran with documents containing nuclear symbols.

“How does this have anything to do with us?” Assange said from the embassy”

This film is likely to be a laughable propaganda piece not just against Wikileaks, but also Iran.  Unfortunately, the general public doesn’t spend a lot of time researching these issues aside from the propaganda that they take in through the mainstream media, so they will probobly buy every line of it, just like they usually do.
