Professor openly admits “micro” efforts to destroy 2nd Amendment not working

(INTELLIHUB) — In the days since the horrific mass shooting in California left 14 people dead and 17 more injured, many on the left, including President Obama, have called for increased gun control measures.

From a prime-time address to the nation that called for unilaterally banning anyone on a secretive “no fly” list from owning a firearm to major media publications dedicating front page space to editorials that attempt to shame the American people into submission, anti gun zealots have taken their mission into overdrive.

Now, amid all the half-hearted claims by gun control advocates that all they want is “common sense” reform, a liberal professor at a major university has penned an op-ed for the left leaning Huffington Post in which he calls for the complete and total disarming of the American public.

Amitai Etzioni, a professor of international relations at George Washington University, starts his call for mass confiscation with a few paragraphs about how “good progressives” are trying so damn hard to save people from gun violence but the big bad, evil conservatives and that pesky organization called the NRA just keep pushing back.

Etzioni then reveals a belief held by a majority of the anti-gun crowd (who usually choose to keep it to themselves) and that is that reforms like universal background checks won’t ever actually achieve the hard left goal of totally disarming the American people. So instead, Etzioni argues, liberals should publicly call for the “big enchilada”. (emphasis mine)

Most people have no guns in these fully democratic nations and have no way of getting them, legally or otherwise. It is hence at best naïve, sometimes disingenuous, to imply that if several gun control measure would be enacted — and somehow enforced — the U.S. would gain what these other nations take for granted. (By the way, Black Lives Matters may wish to take note: In these blessed nations most cops, most of the time, have no guns either.)

Given that even micro gun control measures will be effectively blocked by the NRA and its allies, and that promoting mini measures as potentially effective is misleading, progressives may as well go for the big enchilada: Call for domestic disarmament.

But remember, according to the same mainstream media now pushing mass confiscation, only crazy paranoid conspiracy theorists think that gun control groups are coming for their guns.

It doesn’t get any more Orwellian than calling for total domestic disarmament while at the same time attacking anyone who claims that liberals want a lot more than “common sense” reform.

Just in case you thought Etzioni meant something other than mass confiscation by government force, he repeats the point one more time.

“Above all, domestic disarmament is a true, compelling vision which cannot be said about the small gun control measures that are currently promoted by some of the most enlightened people among us.” Domestic disarmament, the true, compelling vision of authoritarian liberals everywhere.

For Americans who understand how important it is for everyday citizens to be able to own a firearm it can sometimes be hard to grasp the gun control side of the issue. Thankfully, a recent piece by hard left extremist Amanda Marcotte reveals exactly how the left sees guns and it is stands in stark contrast with reality.

You can’t understand the gun debate in modern America unless you understand the totemic, near-religious status that the gun has been elevated to by conservatives. The gun industry has grabbed the brass ring of the consumer society, making a product whose appeal goes well beyond any practical usefulness and instead is purchased mostly as a way for the owner to signal social status.

Ordinary, law-abiding citizens in the 21st century have very little practical use for guns. Most of us don’t hunt and the much-vaunted self-defense value of guns turns out to be poppycock. The average gun sold in this country will either be used to do something terrible and/or illegal (shooting an innocent person, being used in a crime, suicide), or, in the best case scenario, it will have a mundane existence, used only to shoot paper targets and nothing else.

The uselessness of guns to people who have no intention of shooting up a school or knocking over a convenience store is no doubt why the number of gun owners in this country has dwindled down to 1 in 5 Americans. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a bang-bang toy with limited entertainment value, no practical use and is dangerous to boot? More and more people would rather just spend that money on a new iPhone instead.

There you have it. Of course liberals want to completely ban guns in America. They literally do not believe that they provide ANY means of self-defense and they actually believe that conservatives buy them to look “cool”.  Who needs to protect their friends and family when they can buy a brand new IPhone instead?

Undeniable evidence of plan for mass confiscation

The call to fully disarm the public by Etzioni is far from the first time that liberals let slip their true intentions when it comes to gun control. In fact, in the last three months alone multiple mainstream media publications have openly called for mass gun confiscation in America.

In early October, numerous news outlets published articles promoting Australian style control gun in response to a shooting at a community college in Oregon.

“Despite the fact that for years gun control groups and anti-gun liberals have claimed that they only want “common sense” gun control, news outlets such as Salon and Slate are once again openly praising Australia’s controversial 1996 gun control law, a law that included a mandatory gun buy back program under the threat of government force,” I reported at the time.

Just days after this promotion of mass gun confiscation, CNN allowed yet another liberal professor to publish an anti 2nd Amendment screed in which he called for banning guns, “once and for all”.

Laughably, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews actually claimed on air one day later that, “No one is talking about talking guns away, so who is he (Carson) talking about,” before his guest went on to ironically talk about Carson being factually incorrect.

Less than a month later Coppin State University teacher D. Watkins, writing for hard left clickbait rag Salon.com, published an article that actually called for all gun owners to be shot.“I believe that being shot should be a requirement for gun ownership in America. It’s very simple,” Watkins noted.

A court ruling just days later directly paved the way for mass gun confiscation on a legal level after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the constitutionality of the New York SAFE Act of 2013. Shockingly, the court ruled that nearly all of the most drastic gun control law in the history of the United States did not violate the Second Amendment and is therefore constitutional.

Moving into November, in what appeared to be out of simple frustration, a mainstream media reporter penned an op-ed in which he openly admitted that liberal gun control advocates absolutely do favor mass confiscation by government force but are simply too afraid to totally admit this fact.

“For the gun-control side, the unspoken belief is that nothing short of all out confiscation will have an appreciable effect on decreasing gun deaths. Then again, it’s not that unspoken—gun-control advocates just prefer tergiversation to clarity.”

Finally, shortly after the recent terror attack in California, President Obama took to prime-time TV to call for unilaterally banning anyone on a secretive no fly list from owning a firearm.

“Congress should act to make sure no one on a no-fly list is able to buy a gun. What could possibly be the argument for allowing a terrorist suspect to buy a semiautomatic weapon? This is a matter of national security,” Obama disingenuously argued.

Not to be outdone by the President, the New York Times ran a front page editorial for the first time since the 1920’s that attempted to shame the American people into turning in their guns. Despite admitting that authorities were still searching for an exact motive for the attack, the Times wasn’t deterred in the least bit to push their extreme position of not only a full on assault ban but the outright confiscation of all previously legally bought “assault weapons”.

Lastly, this same liberal mainstream media made clear how they actually feel about gun owners themselves when Linda Stasi (an apt name if there ever was one) published a vile column for the New York Daily News in which she insinuated that one of the victims of the California terror attack deserved to die because he was an NRA supporter who expressed fears over Islamic terrorism in an admittedly non PC manner.

At this point the sheer amount of evidence that liberal gun control advocates favor totally disarming the populace is overwhelming and totally debunks any notion that this is about common sense gun reform.

After all, every single gun control law now being pushed in response to the attack in California is actually already on the books in the state where the attack took place. Clearly this is about incremental control on a federal level while the mainstream media continues to get the public ready for mass confiscation.
