LAS VEGAS (INTELLIHUB) — Sheriff Joseph Lombardo appeared on News 3 Las Vegas on Tuesday night where he endured a 30-minute questions and answers segment with station hosts Jeff Gillan and Gerard Ramalho.
In the segment, the newly reelected sheriff told News 3 that a “complete investigative report” on the 1 October shooting should be released by the end of July or the first week of August.
Without skipping a beat, Sheriff Lombardo said that there is “still no motive” for the shooting and made clear that the information is still actively being released “on the heels of a court battle.”
“It’s a continued investigation,” the sheriff explained. “We still have a lot of leads to follow-up on.”
The sheriff explained how the court order forced him to remove about twenty staffers from their normal posts and retask them to prepare thousands of documents, videos, and redactions for public release.
During the broadcast, Sheriff Lombardo shot down rumors which suggest that he’s ‘in the pocket of MGM’ and that he ‘took millions of dollars for his political campaign.’
“The MGM hadn’t given me anything,” the sheriff told News 3.
“I’m not in the pocket of any casino company,” he explained. “That would be malpractice if we were working in concert or covertly doing something with a private entity.”
The sheriff also said that he feels his officers acted bravely and responsibly in their response to 1 October and said that he will “back their play until the cows come home,” whatever that means.
To no surprise, Lombardo stuck with the single shooter narrative and even threw in that there is “some information” that Stephen Paddock’s “mental state was degrading” prior to the shooting.
During the Q and A session, Sheriff Lombardo said that Marilou Danley is still a person of interest and maintained that a number of leads are still being investigated.
From what it sounds like, it seems to me that the sheriff still can’t be trusted and that law enforcement officials are still engaged in a massive cover-up of the 1 October attack on the strip. Stay tuned to intellihub.com for updates.
