A concerned citizen called the police around 10:44 p.m. on May 22 to file a noise complaint after hearing what sounded like loud screaming sounds emanating from a nearby residence which subsequently prompted responding officers to open fire into the resident’s back on the very night of his daughter’s graduation.
“I gotta get to work tomorrow and I’m getting no sleep,” the neighbor told the police during the phone call.
Ryan Whitaker was shot in the back three times by officers who claimed to be in fear of their life after the noisemaker answer the door with a gun in hand.
“Literally we were making salsa and playing Crash Bandicoot so there may have been some screaming from PlayStation but it wasn’t domestic violence or anything,” Whitaker’s girlfriend Brandy Nees told the press.
