Secret Iran IAEA deal apparently allows Iran to inspect their own nuclear site
BY ALEX THOMAS
(INTELLIHUB) — An exclusive Associated Press investigation has proven that, despite repeated claims by the Obama Administration, part of the Iran deal includes a secret agreement with the IAEA that allows Iran to inspect their own nuclear site.
Regardless whether or not one believes that Iran is or isn’t attempting to acquire nuclear weapons, the fact remains that the President and his allies have repeatedly claimed that there was no secret side deal favorable to Iran. The documents seen by the AP show this to be an outright lie.
AP reporter George Jahn writes:
Iran will be allowed to use its own inspectors to investigate a site it has been accused of using to develop nuclear arms, operating under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work, according to a document seen by The Associated Press.
The revelation on Wednesday newly riled Republican lawmakers in the U.S. who have been severely critical of a broader agreement to limit Iran’s future nuclear programs, signed by the Obama administration, Iran and five world powers in July. Those critics have complained that the wider deal is unwisely built on trust of the Iranians, while the administration has insisted it depends on reliable inspections.
“International inspections should be done by international inspectors. Period. The standard of `anywhere, anytime’ inspections – so critical to a viable agreement – has dropped to `when Iran wants, where Iran wants, on Iran’s terms,'” said U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce in a reaction typical of opponents of the broader deal.
Since the moment the Iran deal was released, pundits and Obama allies have gone on a full-scale media blitz, declaring that the deal was the best thing for America and would help stop the threat of a possible coming war.
Now, one has to wonder what other secret concessions were made in the nuclear agreement with Iran and how any logically thinking person could think that allowing a country to inspect their own nuclear sites is in anyway legitimate.
As the AP investigation noted, this type of agreement with Iran is literally unprecedented.
Olli Heinonen, who was in charge of the Iran probe as deputy IAEA director general from 2005 to 2010, said he could think of no similar concession with any other country.
Although any independent journalist has to note that Israel themselves have acquired a massive stockpile of nuclear weapons without going through the IAEA at all, the fact remains that more and more evidence seems to indicate that the Iranian nuclear agreement is nothing more than a sham.
So what do you think?
Is this yet another example of President Obama and his media allies lying directly to the American people?
