Businesses will have a $3,000 per-employee incentive to hire illegal immigrants over native-born Americans because of the inability of immigrants to receive Obamacare under President Obama’s executive order on amnesty.
The temporary amnesty under Obama’s executive order declares 5 million illegals as lawfully inside the U.S. and grants them work permits, but leaves them ineligible to receive public health care.
What this means is that businesses will be free of the $3,000 fine for not providing their employees health care by hiring illegals who have been granted work permits.
According to the Washington Times, this loophole has been confirmed by congressional aides and has been condemned for putting illegals ahead of Americans in the job market.
“If it is true that the president’s actions give employers a $3,000 incentive to hire those who came here illegally, he has added insult to injury,” Rep. Lamar Smith, a Texas Republican told the Washington Times. “The president’s actions would have just moved those who came here illegally to the front of the line, ahead of unemployed and underemployed Americans.”
In Chicago on Tuesday, Obama attempted to convince his audience that the millions of unskilled people who have crossed the U.S. border illegally and are ready to receive work permits are going to positively effect the economic standing for all Americans.
“Immigrants are good for the economy. We keep on hearing that they’re bad, but a report by my Council of Economic Advisers put out last week shows how the actions we’re taking will grow our economy for everybody,” Obama said in Chicago.
This is also the same President who said that raising the debt ceiling doesn’t increase government debt.
By giving employers a incentive to hiring illegals over native-born Americans is obviously not in the interest of Americans who are actively looking for work.
