This week at Manchester Community College in Connecticut a SWAT team responded to a report of a gun on Campus with immense force, treating the students like prisoners, and locking down the whole school for over 6 hours. This extreme reaction is likely a result of this schools relatively close proximity to Sandy Hook, the place where this years infamous school shooting took place.
A lockdown was issued after a student reported seeing a man with a “handgun protruding out from his waistband” Wednesday afternoon. About 4,000 people were “under a shelter-in-place emergency,” while police searched each classroom. During the lockdown, a Manchester police officer was shot in the foot. However, he did not shoot himself. It was an accidental discharge by another officer. After about six hours, the lockdown was lifted after no one with a firearm was located on the campus.
Initial reports had indicated that an officer had shot himself, but it turns out that one officer had misfired his weapon and shot another.
It is interesting that there was an officer involved shooting at this raid but it only got a one sentence mention in the mainstream press. As our recent analysis of mainstream Sandy Hook coverage showed, the media is only interested in using these situations as propaganda events, and they usually sweep the story under the rug if it doesn’t jive with their agenda.
