Passengers on Cruise Ship reported to be Roaming Halls and Decks Covered in Human Feces and Vomit After Over 600 Become Sick

The worst outbreak on a ship in 20-years made for a rather nasty event, after over 600 occupants of the “Explorer of the Seas” cruise ship became sick

(INTELLIHUB) — According to reports, everyone aboard the Royal Caribbean brand cruise ship “Explorer of the Seas” were required by the CDC to return to port after over 600 have been stricken with a most gnarly stomach sickness.

The rather large ship returned to port Wednesday, undergoing total sanitation after all occupants disembarked.

The outbreak, which is the worst to take place on a cruise ship in over 20-years, has reportedly sent passengers and crew members into a unsanitary nightmare as both have been found roaming the halls and decks of the ships in sorry condition. People have seen walking around covered in vomit and human feces from severe diarrhea symptoms, according to one report.

According to CNN:

CDC officials boarded the ship in St. Thomas on Sunday to study the outbreak and the response on the voyage back to Cape Liberty.

The cause of the illness was not clear, though the symptoms are consistent with norovirus, the cruise line said.

Noroviruses spread easily and are a common cause of gastroenteritis, which produces vomiting and diarrhea.

As a token of good faith the company that is hosting the cruise plans to give a 50% refund.

The ship is scheduled to set sail again Saturday, stocked with passengers and a full crew.
