Weather forecasters and officials are worried Hurricane Lane may turn out to be disastrous for residents, travelers, and emergency responders in the state of Hawaii and now the President of the United States (POTUS) Donald J. Trump has a concern of his own.
On Wednesday the POTUS tweeted: “Everyone in the path of #HurricaneLane please prepare yourselves, heed the advice of State and local officials, and follow @NWSHonolulu for updates. Be safe!”

The President’s tweet linked an official FEMA tweet which stated: “(8/21) If you’re in the path of #HurricaneLane, get ready now and make sure your family and neighbors do as well. Check @NWSHonolulu for the latest forecast and http://ready.gov/hurricanes for more tips.”
The National Weather Service Honolulu tweeted the following 5 am update: “Lane is a category 4 storm this morning as it continues WNW toward the state. Maui County has been upgraded to a Hurricane Warning, and a Hurricane Watch has been issued for Kauai County.”
