(INTELLIHUB) — No-one is totally innocent in the recent incidents of mud-slinging, but one candidate has certainly made a name for himself as both a failed politician and lousy stand-up comic: Marco Rubio.
Rubio is so desperate to derail Donald Trump’s ascension to the republican throne that he has engaged in a commentary that would make the most stoic of political aspirants cringe. He has unleashed a barrage of pre-adolescent insults which exceed the normal bounds of juvenile locker room humor.
Marco has made correlations between Donald Trump’s hand size and his phallus and without taking a breath, commenced to berate the Trumpster for his willingness to hire allegedly illegal Polish immigrants 38 years ago. Considering the base level of Rubio’s insults, Trump’s replies were remarkably restrained.
Trump made no reference to Rubio’s past night-time arrest in a Miami park renown for alternative nocturnal activities. Nor did Trump mention Rubio’s close friendship with an individual who was investigated for running a video-streaming service from an all-male residence, which earned a name for itself by broadcasting some rather seedy and steamy scenes, even by Miami standards.
Given the abrasive nature of Rubio’s insults, Trump held back in a reserved fashion and never mentioned that while he may have hired some illegal Polish workers for a construction project, more than two decades later Rubio was alleged to have made a few trips to Warsaw himself. Not Warsaw the capital of Poland, “Warsaw” the once-upon-a-time night club in South Beach, known for it’s off-the-chain foam parties.
Nor did Trump mention that Marco’s brother-in-law, also an immigrant, was arrested for illegal activities in Miami and served time in prison. Marco used his influence to help his brother-in-law find employment after his release, so how does Rubio have room to criticize Trump? Familiars of the Rubio family state that when Marco was younger, he worked for his sister’s husband, and that his parent’s home was paid for by his brother-in-law, possibly with proceeds from illegal activities.
Which is the lesser of two evils, a legalized immigrant engaged in an illegal multi-million dollar operation which had a potential negative impact on thousands of people, or a handful of possibly illegal immigrants earning an honest living? I’ll let you be the judge.
The Washington Post published an article on Rubio’s brother-in-law which included a few interesting details about the family.
Rubio also took a few below-the-belt shots when he accused Trump of filing for bankruptcy. Trump filed for bankruptcy for several of his many businesses. These were not personal declarations of bankruptcy, and are an option which many entrepreneurs have taken in order to shield their assets and other revenue streams.
And an individual such as Rubio, who has never held a normal job, has a history of financial problems, and was investigated for spending more than $10,000 on a state-issued credit card for a family reunion in Georgia has no room to criticize Trump.
Señor Rubio, are you familiar with Theodore Roosevelt’s “The Man in the Arena?”
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood … who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls [such as you Marco] who neither know victory nor defeat.
In summary, it appears that most of the nation would feel more comfortable with an individual who has a proven track record in business; a man whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, rather than a man who is preoccupied with hand-to-genital comparisons and bottled water.
Obviously Marco is not familiar with the expression “Don’t throw foam in glass houses paid for with questionable proceeds.”
