SYRIA (INTELLIHUB) — A joint Russian-Iranian command center issued a statement Monday blasting the U.S. for ‘crossing red lines’ after 2 warships fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles onto the Shayrat airbase in retaliation for last week’s deadly “chemical attack” which was purportedly carried out in the city of Khan Sheikhoun by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The joint statement maintains that allied forces “will respond to any aggression” in the region and reads:

“What America waged in an aggression on Syria is a crossing of red lines. From now on we will respond with force to any aggressor or any breach of red lines from whoever it is and America knows our ability to respond well.”

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has expressed his disdain over what he called a  “flagrant U.S. aggression on Syria” and has warned the U.S. attack may further destabilize the region.
