Russian spy ship docks in Havana Harbor

Has diplomacy between Russia and the West disintegrated to cold war levels?

(INTELLIHUB) — Diplomacy between former cold war rivals, Russia and America, has taken a turn for the worse this week, as civil war has broken out in Ukraine and caused a global military crisis.

Is the cold war back on? And if so, could this be the trigger for a third world war.

The Viktor Leonov CCB-175 boat, measuring 91.5 meters (300 feet) long and 14.5 meters wide, docked at the port of Havana’s cruise ship area this Wednesday, AFP reported.

A spy ship docked in a Cuban harbor is giving the American establishment a taste of their own medicine, as their military has nearly every country on the planet completely surrounded with ships and military bases.

Yesterday we reported that there may be a possibility of Russian troops being sent to Ukraine, however, later on in the day the Russian government formally recognized that they did in fact have troops inside the borders of Ukraine.

The Russian foreign ministry said Friday that it had informed the Ukrainian government that armored units from the Black Sea Fleet base near Sevastopol had entered Crimea in order to protect fleet positions, The Telegraph Reported.

“The Ukrainian side was also passed a note regarding the movement of armored vehicles of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, which is happening in full accordance with the foundation Russian-Ukrainian agreement on the Black Sea Fleet,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Friday afternoon.

In the same note the Russian foreign ministry said it had declined a Ukrainian request for “bilateral consultations” on events in Crimea because they are “the result of recent internal political processes in Ukraine.”
