BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, England (INTELLIHUB.COM) — Silver coins, thousands of them, were found in a green pasture by the Weekend Wanderers, a group of metal detection enthusiasts.

Nearly 5200 silver coins in all were unearthed by the group as a crowd of curious people formed nearby.

The coins were found buried in nearly pristine condition, “neatly stacked”, “wrapped in a led container”.

The rather stunning find was a “much larger” than expected and may be worth approx. $2.3 million USD.

However, questions about the coins origins are yet to be answered as Robert Hall reported.
