A massive six-foot-long monitor lizard that terrorized a Florida family at their own residence for several weeks by evading capture has now gone on the run and authorities have been unable to locate it.
The 6-foot beast stalked Zach Leiberman and his family at their residence and wouldn’t leave their backyard for quite some time before it decided to go free-roaming the neighborhood.
“I got a two-year-old and a four-year-old little girl and they are scared this thing is going to come back,” he told ABC News’s Good Morning America in an interview on Friday. “It’s been kind of fun but at the same time it’s a sense of urgency.”
The lizard was previously someones pet.
Authorities are trying to locate and trap the reptile in an effort offer it up for adoption to new more responsible owners.
