One has to consider are these technologies needed, and if so who needs them?
A recent report details how essentially the average Joe is targeted by the solar industry. The average Joe you say, how’s that?
An excerpt from Forbes reads;
The three most heavily advertised items during the games have been beer, trucks—as one would expect—and solar! Over and over again between innings, following the scene of the guy in the bar getting the girl because he drinks the right beer (never happened to me, BTW…), we see happy homeowners installing photovoltaic panels and saving money (NB, this did happen to me!). The ads are not from my company, Sungevity, but from a worthy competitor who is helping us all by spreading the word.
Nothing is more American than beer and trucks, and the fact that solar is in their company is worth noting and celebrating, of course, with a beer! At least in California, solar is no longer an alternative technology just for hippies and tree-huggers, it is NORMAL, and becoming more so every day. The key to this breakthrough is the improvement of the customer buying experience, a process in which my company has played a large part by helping pioneer the home version of the solar lease and making it easy and online.
You also can see how the solar industry is being backed by figureheads such as president Obama. In fact a representative of the Solar Energy Industries Association stated back in February during Obama’s State of the Union Address;
“In tonight’s State of the Union address, President Obama laid out a vision for the American energy economy that is in line with what SEIA is working to achieve – a robust clean energy industry that powers our homes and businesses while growing our economy and protecting our environment. Energy is a primary input to our nation’s economic system, so it’s appropriate that President Obama is placing emphasis on developing our nation’s robust clean energy resources to help rebuild the nation’s economy.
We are especially encouraged by the president’s commitment to securing America’s place as a leader in clean energy innovation throughout the world. President Obama understands that the stakes are high and we must not fall behind other nations as the world shifts to emissions-free clean energy technologies like solar.”
This all comes at no surprise as Obama was involved with the botched Solyndra deal as well wasting an enormous chunk of taxpayer dollars. According to Wikipedia;
Solyndra received a $535 million U.S. Energy Department loan guarantee before going bankrupt. Under the Solyndra restructuring plan, the government is projected to recoup 19 percent on $142.8 million of the loan and nothing on the remaining $385 million. Additionally, Solyndra received a $25.1 million tax break from California’s Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority.
In February 2012, five months after Solyndra declared bankruptcy, President Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, responded to questions about the Department of Energy loan to Solyndra. He said that the Obama administration “won’t back off” over its clean energy policy. “It’s good for the planet, it’s good for the economy, it’ll create great jobs…high end manufacturing jobs. This is going to continue being a thrust for us.” He added that President Obama’s first 2012 campaign ad, defending his clean energy policy, was a response to a political ad mentioning Solyndra.
Another example of how Wall Street has looted the corporation of the United States while robbing tax dollars from citizens.
