Soros funded leftist media labels pleas for nonviolence racist, calls for violence as a legitimate political strategy

Popular hard left news outlet Salon.com has published an article praising the violence during the Baltimore riots, calling nonviolence a futile philosophy and pleas to follow the Constitution racist

(INTELLIHUB) – In a stunning manifesto published by Salon.com, hard left activist praises the violence in Baltimore as a necessary action due to the circumstances faced by blacks in America today.

Calling smashed police cars and burning stores, “reasonable responses to generations of extreme state violence,” Hart details the belief held by many on the left that any action taken by black protesters is legitimate and should not be criticized.

Amazingly, Hart even attacks the media for, “slandering” the same protesters who were filmed looting random businesses, lighting fires, and attacking members of the media and innocent pedestrians alike.

Ignoring multiple amendments to the Constitution, Hart claims the Constitution was not written for blacks so should be completely disregarded by all those within the Black Lives Matter movement. He then goes on to openly admit, through a platform (Salon.com) that reaches millions of people, that he does not advocate non-violence:

I do not advocate non-violence—particularly in a moment like the one we currently face. In the spirit and words of militant Black and Brown feminist movements from around the globe, I believe it is crucial that we see non-violence as a tactic, not a philosophy.

Non-violence is a type of political performance designed to raise awareness and win over sympathy of those with privilege. When those on the outside of struggle—the white, the wealthy, the straight, the able-bodied, the masculine—have demonstrated repeatedly that they do not care, are not invested, are not going to step in the line of fire to defend the oppressed, this is a futile political strategy. It not only fails to meet the needs of the community, but actually puts oppressed people in further danger of violence.

Militance is about direct action which defends our communities from violence. It is about responses which meet the political goals of our communities in the moment, and deal with the repercussions as they come. It is about saying no, firmly drawing and holding boundaries, demanding the return of stolen resources.

Attacking everything from the free market to the legal system, Hart then goes into the belief held by many on the left that criticizing violence at the hands of blacks is racist and that specifically disrupting white consumerism will help achieve their goals of wealth redistribution.

The political goals of rioters in Baltimore are not unclear—just as they were not unclear when poor, Black people rioted in Ferguson last fall. When the free market, real estate, the elected government, the legal system have all shown you they are not going to protect you—in fact, that they are the sources of the greatest violence you face—then political action becomes about stopping the machine that is trying to kill you, even if only for a moment, getting the boot off your neck, even if it only allows you a second of air. This is exactly what blocking off streets, disrupting white consumerism, and destroying state property are designed to do.

Black people know this, and have employed these tactics for a very, very long time. Calling them uncivilized, and encouraging them to mind the Constitution is racist, and as an argument fails to ground itself not only in the violent political reality in which Black people find themselves, but also in our centuries-long tradition of resistance, one that has taught effective strategies for militance and direct action to virtually every other current movement for justice.

Sadly, this public call for violence as a political strategy while excusing just about any crime committed isn’t some random belief published on the fridge of the internet. This is being promoted directly on highly visited websites and not just Salon.com.

An article by Adan Salzar published on Infowars.com details the Soros-founded Open Society Foundation promoting another report excusing the violence in Baltimore, this time by leftist outlet Vox.

“Yesterday, two of the foundation’s social media pages sent a Vox article out to their followers entitled, “This is the perfect response to anyone calling for nonviolence in Baltimore,” with an alternate headline reading, “The important thing everyone calling for nonviolence in Baltimore fails to say,” reported Salzar.

“The article highlights a story from The Atlantic’s Ta-Nehisi Coates, in which the author argues that protestor violence is an apt response to the violence perpetrated by police on residents of Baltimore throughout the years.”

When nonviolence is preached by the representatives of the state, while the state doles out heaps of violence to its citizens, it reveals itself to be a con. And none of this can mean that rioting or violence is “correct” or “wise,” any more than a forest fire can be “correct” or “wise.” Wisdom isn’t the point tonight. Disrespect is. In this case, disrespect for the hollow law and failed order that so regularly disrespects the community.

Incidentally, both Salon and Vox have received funding from George Soros in the past and both news outlets are considered top destinations by many on the left. For their part, Salon has a long history of attacking the entire right as racist domestic terrorists yet are apparently totally fine with promoting violence as long as it lines up with their political agenda.

The public praising of violence during the Baltimore riots comes amid new information showing that a possible police stand down was ordered by the mayor of Baltimore.

Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was already facing intense criticism over her public revelation that she gave protesters the room they wanted to destroy.

“It’s a very delicate balancing act, because while we tried to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well.”

Now, reports by multiple news outlets claim that when police were asked by reporters why they were not stopping looting happening right in front of their face they responded that reporters should ask the mayor. The governor of Maryland also insinuated that they mayor took way too long to declare an emergency.

“Police officers in Baltimore reportedly told journalists that they were ordered by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake not to stop looters during yesterday’s riots.”

Perhaps the saddest thing about the entire situation is that the police in this country are absolutely out of control and have been getting progressively worse as the years go by. Here at Intellihub, exposing the police state has always been one of the issues we cover most.

With the rise of the warrior cop, American citizens are more likely to die at the hands of a police officer than in a terrorist attack. The police are heavily militarized thanks in part to the Pentagon and seem to have an overall us against them attitude.

All these facts make exposing and then reforming police in America an important priority for the entire country but rather than actually do that, riots like those seen in Baltimore only further divide the populace which in turn gives the police the public relations upper hand.

Extremists on the hard left are doing everything in their power to divide this country along racial lines, teaching young blacks that all whites are the problem and that violence, along with the help of the federal government, will lift them out of poverty.

At this point all that level-headed Americans can do is remember that a large amount of African-Americans love this country and do not support either the violence in Baltimore or the calls to support it. For if we continue to allow ourselves to be divided the increasing American police state will continue to grow.

Update: Here is another example of what the hard left is calling legitimate. US News reports:

Journalists covering riots in Baltimore were attacked and robbed Monday as furious locals confronted police and looted stores after the funeral of Freddie Gray, who suffered a fatal injury in police custody.

Washington Post columnist Petula Dvorak was shoved to the ground and robbed of her phone. Baltimore Sun photo editor Chris Assaf was tackled by looters and beaten. Oliver Janney of CNN said he was “jumped,” suffered a broken nose and was robbed of his phone.

A cameraman for CCTV America was attacked by protesters and had his camera stolen. A tweeted photo shows blood streaming down his face.

A video team from The Daily Caller also was attacked and robbed. Reporter Connor Wolf suffered a broken nose. Another reporter, Casey Harper, was hit with a liquor bottle that fractured his cheekbone.

WNEW-FM reporter Steve Dorsey, meanwhile, was hit in the face by a protester. His phone was stolen. In earlier protests on Saturday an RT reporter was robbed on camera.

And another report from the Daily Caller showing what protesters were actually doing on the ground despite praise from the left:

On April 27, Daily Caller News Foundation reporters Connor D. Wolf and Casey Harper went to Baltimore with The TheDC’s Grae Stafford to find the truth behind the Freddie Gray protests. What we found instead were violent thugs willing to go after anyone — even us.

While we interviewed looters, gang-bangers and activists, criminals violently set upon us.

[…]

That night, the city of Baltimore was dominated by vicious thugs. We had come to find the truth behind the protests. Looks like we had. Before we were faced with a city plunged into anarchy, we met those who sought answers through peaceful demonstrations.

We saw rival gangs, the Crips and the Bloods, together in the hopes of showing the police a message more powerful than violence. Though they were angry, they stood together to show their mistrust in the justice system. That was the message they wanted the world to know and that was the message that was drowned out by savage violence.
