OMAHA (INTELLIHUB) — Strangely, a deranged man aboard Southwest Airlines flight 722, which was headed from Chicago to California Sunday, tried to open the plane’s exit door in an attempt to takedown the plane and all 135 of its passengers, according to reports.

Apparently, the man attempted to open the door after returning from the bathroom soaking wet.

However, after a few passengers screamed, one of the plane’s passengers, a rather large man, detained the assailant, before garnering a major applause from the rest of the passengers aboard.

KCRA reported:

“All of a sudden, we heard a woman scream way in the back,” passenger Andre Lescari said. “We saw the stewardess rush to the back and it was all sorts of commotion.”

“Fear immediately sets in,” said Natalie Lee, another passenger. “We had people nauseated, practically fainting, crying.”

Passengers said a man who wanted to jump out of the plane was trying to open an exit door.

Hearing the commotion, a group of male passengers immediately headed toward the back of the plane.

“You got this bad feeling that wasn’t going right, especially when a bunch of big guys got up and immediately jumped into the aisle and ran to the back of the plane,” passenger Lori Depalma said.

Surprisingly, the story managed to dodge most national news reports despite the fact that the missing Malaysian Airlines flight 370 has been such a big topic of interest lately.
