PHILADELPHIA — Mass casualty and pandemic preparedness plans have been in effect in most local and state jurisdictions for years now and are nothing new as the government actually does need to have some preparation and contingency plans in case a disaster were to strike.
However, a CBS revealed some startling facts in regards to a drill that took place recently.
In the report they mention the fact that a drill was taking place but no one, including commanding officers or first responders, were alerted prior to the drill that an actual drill would ensue.
John Miller former NYPD stated;
“… even the commanders didn’t know what the drill was for until they go there.”
The drill was based on a subway bombing.
They call it “stressing the exercise”, a form of training that the responders can apparently really learn from.
A mock 900 pound bomb was left un found in the back of an ambulance parked nearby, a terrible mistake officials say that could have led to a major disaster in a real life scenario.
This portion of the drill was based on an actual situation out of London years back.
The drill creator says DHS (Department of Homeland Security) should work on this type thing more often.
This dovetails with other unannounced terror drill across the US and even Canada where Dan Dicks with Press for Truth documented a surprise drill in Toronto.
