(INTELLIHUB) — The Obama Foundation appears to have Tweeted out an image of George Floyd eight days prior to his reported murder.
It has been brought to the attention of Intellihub staff that former U.S. President Barack Obama’s foundation may have tweeted out an image that resembles George Floyd on May 17 eight days before the African-American security guard was reported to have died at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer named Derek Chauvin.
On May 17 a Tweet containing an image that appears to be George Floyd was released.
The Tweet reads: “Did you tune in to @BarackObama’s commencement message last night? Here are a few of our favorite watch parties. Respond to this thread with your photos from last night and keep the celebration going at obama.org. #GraduateTogether”

Astonishingly, the image in the Tweet looks exactly like George Floyd. Keep in mind, the Tweet is dated 8 days prior to his reported death. How could this be?
The next time the image was Tweeted by The Obama Foundation was on May 31 which is four days after Floyd reportedly had been killed. The foundation retweeted the image and attached a May 29 Tweet from Barack Obama which included the former president’s statement of George Floyd’s death.
The Tweet reads: “The loss of too many Black lives has left our nation anguished and outraged. Here are some resources to learn about police violence and accountability, actions you can take to encourage reform, and organizations you can support: ” obama.org/anguish-and-ac

Mystery solved
Journalist Tim Pool solved the mystery on Monday.
The image of Floyd appears to be a thumbnail posted to the main page of The Obama Foundation official website which auto-updates all previous Twitter posts which contain that specific main page URL. (i.e. any Twitter post containing that main page URL will be updated as the main page image changes whether daily or weekly)
Pool Tweeted on Monday: “This is not a conspiracy People keep pulling old tweets that link Obama’s website When Twitter loads the link *TODAY* it shows the current image It is not an image from 2019.”
