Tomac wins Detroit Supercross, 4th race in a row

Tomac's winning streak continues, Dungey places third, at Detroit Supercross

DETROIT, Mich. (INTELLIHUB) — Round 12 of the Monster Energy Supercross series was won by Eli Tomac, no. 3, Kawasaki, Saturday at Ford Field, making it his 4th 2017 win in a row.

Tomac got off to a good second place start behind Marvin Musquin, who pulled the holeshot, and made his move early on when Musquin bobbled in the second section of the track allowing Tomac to ride out a picture perfect race and capture the win.

However, Chad Reed, no. 22, Yamaha, wasn’t so lucky, after finding himself on the ground with two other riders in turn number one after getting hung up in a tuff block then high sliding to the outside.

Reigning Supercross Champion Ryan Dungey started out in tenth place but managed to work his way up the pack for a third place podium finish just ahead of Blake Baggett, no. 4, and David Millsaps, no. 18, who rounded out the top 5.
