TSA officer attacked by man with machete and wasp spray

Passengers and staff scramble in fear

KENNER, Louisiana (INTELLIHUB) — Richard White, 62, was seen wielding a machete and wasp spray attacking a TSA officer at Armstrong International Airport Saturday in the pre-boarding line before he was shot and killed by airport police.

According to the sheriff when the man confronted the TSA officer and didn’t get the response he wanted he then proceeded to spray the officer in the face with wasp spray.

The incident sent airport workers and passengers in Concourse B to “scramble for safety” and the airport was “shutdown” for some time, reports CNN.

The TSA officer involved was wheeled away on a stretcher with non-life-threatening injuries after the attack.

Police do not yet know if the man, who was a taxi driver, was a “member of the traveling public” or just a random psycho.
