Twenty-foot storm surge expected from Florence: Reports

Hurricane Florence projected to wreak havoc on the Carolina coast, may sit and spin

Reports circling on the interweb suggest that Hurricane Florence may impact the U.S. East Coast as a Category 4 with winds in excess of 130 miles per hour and a storm surge of over 15 feet.

The coastline in which Florence is expected to impact has a continental shelf which is less than 150 feet deep that’s expected to add to the force of the storm.

A 20 plus foot surge is expected in the region of the Carolinas, as reports.

Excessive flooding will be a factor aside from the high winds which will add to the danger.
