NEW YORK (INTELLIHUB) — According to an NYPD’s Rebecca Weiner, Director of Intelligence, Wednesday, the U.S. Open Tennis Championship was listed as a prospective target in an Al Qaeda publication recently causing great concern.

In fact, CBS New York reported:

“We will ensure that the suggestions in this magazine remain hypothetical,” she [Weiner] said. “Nonetheless, we would be remiss not to take note of it as this event comes up.”

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said the biggest concern is lone wolves who operate under law enforcement’s radar.

Remain vigilant.
